Semax — ACTH (4-7) Pro-Gly-Pro

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide analog of the ACTH (4-10) fragment, developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It consists of the Met-Glu-His-Phe sequence from ACTH 4-7 with a Pro-Gly-Pro C-terminal extension that protects against enzymatic degradation. Semax has been the subject of preclinical and limited clinical research in Russia examining BDNF expression, neuroprotection, and cognitive function.
